About us

Consilium Construction Experts is a specialist construction consultancy that primarily supports clients in disputes over time and costs.

We provide advisory roles, claims production and assessment and expert witness reports. Our clients can be through-out the construction chain such as developers, public entities, contractors, project managers, quantity surveyors and architects. As well as commercial clients we act and advise private clients on major projects to private homes including those in super prime locations in Belgravia, Mayfair, Notting Hill and significant properties outside of London.

Our appointment as Expert Witness is primarily through solicitors acting on behalf of their client but direct appointments are also available. Through our experience with various law firms we can also assist in the introduction to potential solicitors where additional legal advice is required.

Consilium Construction Experts is led by Richard Begbey, a former director of multiple tier 1 international consultancies both in the UK and overseas. He is regularly instructed to provide delay and / or quantum expert reports for disputes in litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and private settlements. He works on disputes of varying size from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions with contractors, developers, government bodies, high net worth individuals and other parts of the construction supply chain.

Richard has grown and led teams at large international firms and SME’s before establishing Consilium Construction Experts with an ethos of putting clients and employees first.

We have a network of sub-consultants in specialist fields to assist in the delivery of specific issues or for larger commissions requiring greater resources. Consilium Construction Experts also acts in support of large consultancies as a sub-consultant itself. Due to the knowledge, experience and network available, Consilium Construction Experts is able to undertake and support clients with small claims through to major matters in litigation and arbitration across international jurisdictions.
